Terms

These terms are an agreement between you and Streamfog Inc. ("we") for the use of limelit: the macOS app, the camera extension, the agent behind it, this site and our backend (together, "the service"). By creating an account or using the app you accept them. How we treat your data is on theprivacy page, which is part of these terms.

A preview, by invitation

limelit is in an invite-only preview. It will change, sometimes without notice, and it may be unavailable or end. We make no promise about uptime, and we may limit how much you can use the agent. There is no fee during the preview; if that changes we will tell you in advance, and nothing will be charged without your agreement.

Your account

You sign in with a Google account. The account is yours alone; keep it secure and do not share it. You must be at least 16 years old. We may close accounts that break these terms.

Your content

What you type, the files you add, the cues the agent writes for you and what you show on camera are yours. You give us the permission needed to process that content in order to run the service: to store it, to send it to the model provider on your behalf, and to show it back to you. You are responsible for having the rights to anything you put on camera.

Listening and other people

When you turn listening on, the app transcribes your microphone and the audio of the call, including the other participants. You are the one on the call. It is your responsibility to know the laws that apply where you and the participants are, to tell them and to obtain their consent where that is required, and to follow the rules of the meeting you are in.

The agent

The agent is a language model. It can be wrong, out of date or oddly literal, and it writes what goes on your camera. Check what it made before you rely on it in front of other people. It is a tool that works for you; it is not advice.

What you may not do

• Use the service to break the law, or to harass, deceive or impersonate someone.
• Probe, disrupt or overload the service, or try to get around its limits.
• Reverse engineer the app or the camera extension, except where the law allows it regardless of this term.
• Resell the service or share your account.

Other software

limelit shows up as a camera in Zoom, Meet, Teams, FaceTime and other apps. We are not affiliated with any of them, and your use of them is under their own terms. The app includes open-source components; their notices ship inside the app bundle.

Ending things

You can stop using the service any time and delete your account in the app's settings. We may suspend or end the service or your access to it, and will tell you when we can. Terms that by their nature should survive, such as the ones on liability, do.

No warranty

The service is provided as it is and as it is available, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not promise that it will be error-free or that cues will look right on every camera or in every app.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, Streamfog Inc. is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost profits, data or goodwill, arising from the service, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or one hundred US dollars, whichever is greater. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limits; there, they apply only as far as permitted.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Streamfog Inc. is organized, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and any dispute is brought in the courts there, unless the law where you live gives you a right to your local courts.

Changes

We may update these terms. If a change matters, the app tells you at the next launch; the date at the top says when. Using the service after that is acceptance of the new terms.
